The coming catastrophe

Parts of Metro Manila and Cebu, Laguna de Bay's lakeshore, and most port cities of the Philippines may soon vanish.

The main culprit? Climate change due to global warming. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), a group of 2,000 scientists which advises the United Nations, said the rising of sea level is one of the most certain outcomes as a result of global warming.

In a room jammed with 62 newsmen yelling out questions, collectively clicking over a hundred photos and recording everything on expensive movie cameras, the mousy looking pair looked terribly out of place.
Filipino computer student Onel de Guzman, 24, wore rubber shoes, a gray shirt with white stripes, and with his untidy hair, looked every inch a computer nerd.
